Before this update, DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) channels on the U6LR were a gamble. If a weather radar swept through the area, the access point would shut down the channel for up to two minutes — long enough to drop video calls and tank gaming sessions.
With 6.6.77, Ubiquiti introduced Zero Wait DFS. The U6LR now monitors background channels in parallel, so if a radar pulse is detected, the AP instantly shifts to a pre-validated clean channel. Users experience a sub-50ms handover, often undetectable in real-time traffic. For a long-range AP often placed in high-density neighborhoods near airports or weather stations, this is a game-changer.
