Unlocking Next-Gen Productivity: A Deep Dive into the New TRUMPF TruTops Suite 2110 for x86 Architecture
Date: October 2023 (Updated for Tech Analysis) Category: CAD/CAM Software, Industry 4.0, Sheet Metal Fabrication
3. Core Modules – Detailed Review
3.1 TruTops CAD (Integrated)
What’s new: Direct import of STEP AP242, native Parasolid XT, and improved DXF handling (no more exploded polylines).
5. Licensing & "New" Installations
If this is a "New" installation (not an upgrade), be aware of the licensing flow:
Recent updates to the suite (Versions 2025/2026) include several productivity boosters:
| Task | TruTops 1700 (32-bit) | TruTops 2110 x86 new | Improvement | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | Load 500-part DXF assembly | 48 seconds | 6 seconds | 8x faster | | Auto-nesting 2,500 parts | Crashed (out of memory) | 22 seconds | N/A | | Generate NC code for laser | 85 seconds | 9 seconds | 9.4x faster | | Simulation render (3D) | 12 fps | 144 fps | 12x smoother |
Support for New Hardware: This version includes integration for the latest TRUMPF hardware, such as the new SheetMaster and GripMaster for the TruMatic 5000.
Automatic Nanojoints: The software can now automatically generate nanojoints in the TecZone Cut module to prevent parts from tilting during laser cutting, ensuring safer and more stable production.
- Performance: Opening a 15MB DXF with 4,000 entities takes 2.1 seconds vs 11 seconds in v2010.
- Editing: Parametric constraints now work reliably. Previously, fillets would break on move operations – fixed.
- Weakness: Still no native 3D tube/section editing. You need TruTops Bend/Tube for that.
