Simatic Step 7 V5.6 SP2 Download: What You Need to Know Before You Install

If you are an automation engineer working with legacy Siemens systems, the hunt for specific software versions is a familiar challenge. While TIA Portal is the current standard, a massive portion of the industrial world still relies on the classic Step 7 environment.

But there was a problem. Siemens, in its push to TIA Portal, made V5.6 SP2 incredibly hard to find. It wasn't on the public download side. It was buried in the "Service & Support" archives, behind a login wall that required a valid, paid software service contract (SSC) — a contract that had expired for most plants years ago.

What “SP2” Means

Service Pack 2 is a cumulative update. If you install the base V5.6 , you must then install SP2. However, most users seek the "all-in-one" installer that already includes SP2 to save time and reduce installation errors. Simatic Step 7 V5 6 Sp2 Download

Simatic Step 7 V5.6 SP2 is widely considered the standard engineering tool for legacy Siemens S7-300 and S7-400 PLC systems

Installation and Activation

If you need SP2, you likely want V5.5 SP2. If you need the latest classic version, aim for V5.6 + Update 2.

Hotfixes (e.g., Hotfix 10) are available separately to update the V5.6 SP2 installation. STEP 7 V5.6 SP2 Programming Software for SIMATIC S7 / C7 Simatic Step 7 V5

Extra interactivity on desktop The visual above is just an image, but on a large screen you see the full interactive and get the option to hover over each of the fights and character paths to see extra information about the fight; who was fighting whom, what was special about the fight and in what other battles did these characters fight.

What you can do on desktop

Check it out behind your laptop / desktop as well for an even more detailed look into all fights that happened in Dragon Ball Z.

The fight info was taken from the Dragon Ball Wikia pages for each saga. For relevance, a few fights were taken out of the above visual; the Garlic Jr. and Other World Tournament filler sagas were completely removed. Also the ±5 fights that happened in the anime only and didn't feature any of the Z fighters, happened in a nightmare or flashback were taken out.
