1. The Movie Itself (Plot & Humor)

• Weakest of the trilogy (now quadrilogy). The plot follows Shrek reluctantly becoming heir to Far Far Away after King Harold dies. It rehashes “fish out of water” jokes, splits the cast (Shrek, Donkey, Puss search for Arthur; Fiona leads a princess rebellion), and relies heavily on pop culture parodies that aged poorly.
• Humor: Many gags feel rushed or mean-spirited (e.g., Prince Charming as a washed-up momma’s boy). Missing the heart of Shrek 2.
• Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots – still funny, but underused.
