Phase 3: Executing the Test Point Short
- Prepare your PC: Open Device Manager (Windows). Connect the USB cable to the PC but NOT to the phone yet.
- Short the points: Using tweezers, touch both the test point and a ground (e.g., the USB port shield or an exposed ground plane).
- Connect USB: While maintaining the short, plug the USB cable into the phone.
- Watch Device Manager: After 2-3 seconds, release the short. If successful, Device Manager will refresh and show "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" under Ports.
- If you see "Unknown Device" or nothing, repeat step 2-4. Timing is critical.
