Macros Sprint Layout 6.0

Sprint-Layout 6.0 are the building blocks of your PCB design, functioning as a library of pre-defined footprints for components like ICs, resistors, and transistors. They allow for rapid layout creation by dragging and dropping recurring elements directly onto your board. Instructables Managing the Macro Library

  1. Draw a copper pour (polygon) for your ground plane.
  2. Place four small 0.2mm traces from the center of an SMD pad to the pour (forming a cross).
  3. Save the "Pad + Spokes" as a macro. Place this macro over your standard SMD pad to manually create a thermal relief.

If you have spent any time designing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) using Sprint Layout 6.0, you know it strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and power. It is the go-to software for hobbyists, RF enthusiasts, and rapid prototypers because it lacks the steep learning curve of Altium or KiCad. Macros Sprint Layout 6.0

  • Ctrl + M: Place Macro (Equivalent of Extras > Read Macro). This is your best friend.
  • Ctrl + R: Repeat. After placing a macro, press Ctrl+R to place it again at the same coordinates.
  • Arrow Keys (with Alt): Copy and Shift. Hold Alt + Right Arrow to duplicate the selected macro 1 grid unit to the right. Repeat 10 times for a perfect row.
  • + / - (Numpad): Rotate the macro before placing it (90-degree increments).
  • F / V (while placing): Flip the macro horizontally (F) or vertically (V).
