The first episode of the Spanish sitcom La que se avecina , titled " Mirador de Montepinar ," originally aired on April 22, 2007
"Weak and Naive" Start: Critics and audiences often find the first episode (and much of Season 1) a bit "weak" or "naive" as it struggled to step out from the shadow of Aquí no hay quien viva.
A significant portion of the pilot’s DNA is inherited from Aquí no hay quien viva (ANHQV). Many actors transitioned to new roles that mirrored their previous ones:
- Los Recio – Antonio (property administrator), his wife Berta, daughter Carlota.
- Los Cuesta – Enrique (Victor Palmer), his wife Izaskun (Eva Isanta), their two children.
- Los Benito – José María (Pablo Chiapella) and Amador (Luis Miguel Seguí), brothers and owners of a locksmith/security business.
- Mauri Hidalgo (Fernando Tejero) – flight attendant, shares an apartment with Fernando (Alberto Díaz – no, actually Fernando is played by Ricardo Arroyo in early seasons).
- Silvia y Cristina (Griselda Siciliani & Silvia Abril) – a couple with a baby.
- Maxi Ángulo (Loles León) – eccentric actress.
As Emilio tries to adjust to his new life, he meets the quirky group of neighbors who will become his friends and confidants throughout the series. There's also Lydia (Natalia Millán), a seductive and manipulative woman who often finds herself at the center of the building's gossip.
Second, the missing pieces. Several future pillars are absent. Esther (Miren Ibarguren) , the naive prostitute, doesn't arrive until later. Judith (Loles León) , the fading diva, is nowhere to be seen. The children, including the future legendary delinquent Javi Maroto Jr. , are background noise at best. The alchemy is 70% complete.
: Javi and Lola move in as a young married couple, though they are immediately burdened by Javi's overbearing parents, Gregoria (Goya) and Vicente, who live in the same building. The Squatters
