Quality ~upd~ — Kamen Rider Agito Sub Eng Extra
Beyond the RAW: Finding Kamen Rider Agito in SUB ENG Extra Quality
If you are a fan of the Heisei era of Kamen Rider, you know that Kamen Rider Agito (2001) holds a special place in the pantheon. Coming off the revolutionary success of Kuuga, Agito dared to be different. It introduced a complex, almost biblical mythology, multiple primary Riders (G3, Gills, and Agito himself), and a murder-mystery tone that hasn't really been replicated since.
- Import the Japanese Blu-ray Box (Region A/Free, roughly $300 USD).
- Download a fansub
.assfile from a sub repository. - Mux them yourself using MKVToolNix.
- Episode 1 (The Awakening): The first transformation. Pay attention to the water splashing and the gold light reflection. In low quality, this looks like digital noise. In extra quality, it looks like liquid sunlight.
- Episode 17 (Perfect Victory): G3 vs. the Jaguar Lord. The night-time forest scene should have distinguishable blacks. If you see banding (horizontal lines in the dark), your encode is bad.
- Episode 35 (The Mysterious Party): The Overlord of Darkness speaks. Listen for the reverb in his voice. Read the subtitles. Do they convey the fear and divinity? If they say "You all suck" instead of "You wretches who dare to walk the path of Agito," you have a bad sub.
