What you need: A USB flash drive formatted to FAT32 (not exFAT/NTFS), capacity 4GB to 32GB. Installing the firmware for a Fujitsu N7100 network

  1. On a working computer, rename the firmware file to FJSECURE.BIN (case-sensitive).
  2. Copy it to the root directory of the USB stick (not inside any folder).
  3. Power off the N7100 completely (disconnect AC).
  4. Insert the USB stick into the scanner’s USB-A port (front panel, not the PC interface port).
  5. Press and hold the Power and Scan buttons simultaneously while connecting the AC power.
  6. Continue holding until the LCD shows "Emergency firmware loader v1.0" or a blinking LED pattern.
  7. Release buttons. The scanner will automatically read the USB and reflash the bootloader and main firmware.
  8. After 10 minutes, remove the USB and restart normally.
