Abstract
This paper examines the rising trend of adolescent males (SMP and SMA levels) in urban Indonesia showcasing curated lifestyles and entertainment consumption through self-photographs on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat. Drawing on theories of impression management (Goffman), aspirational identity, and digital capitalism, the study analyzes 150 posts across three platforms. Findings indicate that these visual performances serve not merely as vanity metrics but as strategic tools for social capital accumulation, peer distinction, and accelerated adulthood signaling. The paper concludes that such “pamer better lifestyle” practices reflect deeper shifts in post-reformasi Indonesian youth identity, where material signifiers (streetwear, cafes, gadgets, travel) replace traditional markers of success.
