Firmware Reset Samsung Ml 2160 2165 2160w 2165w Updated May 2026

⚠️ Important: A firmware reset will clear network settings (WiFi/Wired), admin passwords, and may revert the printer to an older firmware state if you use the downgrade method. It will not reset the page counter (toner usage).

  1. Download an older firmware file from a trusted archive (e.g., ML-2160_v3.00.00.34.exe or similar).
  2. Connect printer via USB only.
  3. Run the firmware updater.
  4. During update, it will often ask “Reset to factory defaults?” – select Yes.
  5. Complete the downgrade.
  6. Printer will restart with original firmware + factory settings.
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. When the printer is initializing (during the self-test), press and hold the Cancel button.
  3. While holding the Cancel button, press and release the OK button.
  4. Release the Cancel button.
  1. Turn off printer, unplug, wait 30 seconds.
  2. Plug in but do not power on.
  3. Press and hold Power + Cancel + WPS buttons simultaneously.
  4. Keep holding for 15–20 seconds.
  5. Release all buttons. Printer should power on and reset.
