Electude Simulator Challenge Level 1 2021 Page

The Electude Simulator Challenge Level 1 is designed as the introductory "Basics" tier for automotive students to practice engine management troubleshooting. At this level, the simulator provides detailed work orders and a full suite of diagnostic tools to help you identify and repair faults in a virtual internal combustion engine. Core Diagnostic Process

  1. Verify complaint – Turn on headlights; observe left lamp off, right lamp on.
  2. Preliminary check – Measure battery voltage (must be >12V; if low, simulate charge).
  3. Fuse check – Locate fuse box (usually underhood or left dash). Remove and visually inspect; use DMM continuity across fuse – if open, replace.
  4. Bulb test – Access headlamp housing; measure voltage at bulb connector’s power pin to chassis ground while switch ON.

    Symptom: Battery discharges overnight.

    • Task: An animation plays showing a mechanical failure.
    • Action: The student must select the correct component from a diagram that needs replacement.
