Phase 3: Mounting the Alternator

1. Hold the 614 against the bracket and insert the long pivot bolt (usually the lower one). Do not tighten yet.

3. Install the belt. Slip it over the crank pulley, then the alternator pulley. Use a pry bar gently between the alternator casing and the engine block to tension the belt. You want about ½ inch of give on the longest belt run.
4. Tighten the pivot bolt and adjustment bolt to 25-30 lb-ft.
