Deep Glow After Effects Plugin May 2026
Leo was a perfectionist, and in the world of motion graphics, perfectionism is a slow poison. For three days, he had been staring at a futuristic UI design that looked—in his own words—"plastic."
Example workflow (quick recipe)
- Duplicate the footage/text layer.
- On the top copy, add Levels/Curves to boost highlights and clamp blacks.
- Apply Deep Glow to that top copy. Set Threshold to isolate highlights, Radius to taste, and moderate Intensity.
- Enable dithering/high precision if you see banding.
- Blend the glow layer back over the original using Add or Screen; adjust opacity to taste.
- Final color grade on an adjustment layer.
3. Not Magic for Every Scene
- If your source is very low contrast or noisy, Deep Glow will accentuate that noise (use the Threshold to fix).
Key Features of Deep Glow
Why choose Deep Glow vs built-in glow
- Better preservation of color and highlight detail (energy‑conserving)
- Cleaner results with fewer halos and clipping artifacts
- Superior HDR handling and realistic light falloff
- Faster and more consistent results on large formats and animated sequences
