Installing on Modern Windows (10/11) — Compatibility Notes

.NET 3.5: enable via Control Panel → Turn Windows features on or off → check .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 & 3.0).
Compatibility mode: if the installer or app crashes, set the executable’s Compatibility tab to run as Windows 7 or Windows XP SP3 and run as Administrator.
32‑bit vs 64‑bit: ArtCAM 2011 may be a 32‑bit application. On 64‑bit Windows this is generally fine, but any 16‑bit installers (rare) won’t run—use a VM with 32‑bit Windows in that case.
User Account Control (UAC): running the installer as Admin mitigates common permission issues.
Digital signing warnings: Windows may warn about unsigned drivers (dongle). Proceed only if you trust the vendor source.

Cause: ArtCAM 2011 expects older OpenGL 1.4-2.1 calls that modern GPUs deprecate.

Pro tip: If you use a VM, take a snapshot before activating ArtCAM. You can revert infinitely.
