ALCPT Form 115 is part of the American Language Course Placement Test series used primarily by the U.S. Department of Defense

  • 14 days out: Take a diagnostic test. Identify your weakest skill (Listening Part A, Reading Paragraphs, or Grammar).
  • 7 days out: Drill the 20 advanced vocabulary words. Use the "Reverse Engineering" technique on 2 reading passages daily.
  • 3 days out: Simulate test day. Wake up at the same time. Use a timer. Practice bubbling answers.
  • Test Day: Hydrate, sleep 8 hours, and use the 2/3 listening rule and the elimination matrix for reading.

75–84 (High Intermediate): Ready for advanced specialized courses.

  • Break long sections into pages if needed.
  • Use conditional logic to show only relevant questions.
  • Use short, consistent answer choices (avoid mixing scales).

C. Vocabulary (Weeks 3–4)

  • Study 20 common phrasal verbs (separable/inseparable).
  • Learn transition words (nevertheless, consequently, otherwise) – often tested in fill-in-blanks.
  • Use flashcards for word pairs: raise/rise, lie/lay, affect/effect.
