Surprisingly, the dubbing succeeds because the film’s setting is Mumbai. The characters live in Mahim, travel by local trains, and eat Vada Pav. Listening to Madhavan speak Hindi in the dubbed version feels organic because the character, Shakthi, is a Tamilian living in Mumbai. You hardly notice the dubbing after the first ten minutes.
